AROUND THE NEK- Several consumers report finding small pieces of glass in their food has resulted in a voluntary recall by Nestle USA. No injuries have been reported, but Nestle USA says they believe the source of glass is from the spinach in DiGiorno, Lean Cuisine, and Stouffer's products.

AROUND THE NEK- The parent company that owns Corona Extra issued a voluntary recall of their 12 and 18 pack glass bottles after they found bits of glass in the beer. According to Constellation Brands Beer Division, select 12 and 18 packs of Corona Extra may contain small particles of glass.

Residents from across the state stormed their town halls to cast votes during Town Meeting Day. In the Northeast Kingdom, for instance, -- where even small towns see big participation – education weighed heavy on the minds of voters. In such towns as Peacham, new members of the school board were elected, and in St. Johnsbury, a drop in enrollment at the St. Johnsbury School was cause for a budget uptick.

Maple Syrup Producers Optimistic Following Mild Winter

Vermont- After a very unseasonably warm Vermont Winter, Vermont maple syrup producers are optimistic as there season begins.

The ideal conditions for sap to run is when the temperature dips below the freezing mark at night, and then rises to the 40’s and 50’s during the day. Although this winter has been warm, Maple syrup producers say the weather is impeccable for their job.

St J Brewery GREENSBORO- The Northeast Kingdom, known for years for its beautiful fall scenery and harsh winter months, can now lay claim to another fame. According to Ratebeer, Hill Farmstead Brewery based out of Greensboro has been named the best place in the world to get a beer for three out of the last four years.

For the past ten years, the board raised tuition members of the board say they thought the colleges were financially in a good place. The chancellor, leadership and college presidents said that it was untenable for next year.
