BRADFORD- Last night the Bradford Academy held their World Book Night. Author Mary Holland presented a photographic display about her own experiences in New England.
BRADFORD- A large fire in Bradford destroyed a barn and nearly more on Sunday afternoon. The owner, Mickey Appleton, found out around four P.M, and by that time, his barn had already burned to the ground.

BRADFORD - Sydney Lea has been writing for a large portion of his life, and he was named Vermont's Poet Laureate in 2011. Lea lives in the Northeast Kingdom, where he resides in Newbury, but he came from a much different background. Born in Philadelphia in 1942, Sydney has lived all over the world, from a fellowship he took in 1988 in Siena, Italy, to his time spent teaching in Budapest, Hungary or Lugano, Switzrland.
BRADFORD - Bradford's town meeting played host to many hot topics this year.
The town debated police presence at school, while the gun control article was decided by a single vote.
BRADFORD - Despite poor snowmobile trail conditions being less than perfect all season long, The Rock the Hills group still held their Snodeo at the Bradford Fairgrounds this past Saturday. The Snowmobile Rodeo, or Snodeo, featured snowmobile races and trick competitions with riders from across the state.
BRADFORD - State police officers from the Bradford Barracks now have a final analysis on the sobriety and vehicle checkpoints that took place earlier this month.
Bradford police officers along with other officers in the state have been trying to prevent, and reduce the number of fatal crashes on Vermont highways. One method was to conduct sobriety and vehicle checkpoints over the past week.

BRADFORD - A bigger Hannaford's is set to replace the smaller one next door on route 5.
The bigger store will offer more options as well as be more attractive to consumers. Superintendent of the construction Chip Cheney says it will be modern as well as close to three times bigger "its just all updated.

The Burke Mountain Club in East Burke is known for having historic artifacts and statues about the town, but there’s more being added into the building.
Burke Mountain Club hosted an event that included food, fun, and lot’s of wool.

Burke- On Saturday April 29th 2023, during the Rasputitsa Dirt bike race in Burke, Vermont, race participant 54 year old Richard Wanstall of Marblehead, Massachusetts, was struck on his bicycle in the intersection of Brook road and Carter road and killed.
EAST BURKE -- Skiers were able to hit the slopes this weekend as Burke Mountain opened for the season.
Saturday at 9 am the first chair headed up the mountain kicking it off.
BURKE - U16 athletes from across the east coast traveled to Burke Mountain for this week's Eastern Championships. Today, skiers were challenged to the girls and boys super giant slalom on the Upper and Big Dipper trails.
