Drop Everything And Read

st j childrenST. JOHNSBURY- Students of the St. Johnbury School are celebrating Dr. Suess' birthday by reading. Drop Everything And Read or D-E-A-R for short, encourages students to read on a daily basis.

The students take 15 minutes out of their school day to stop everything and read their favorite books. The school is only doing this until Friday but Librarian Beth Mallon says this does more for the students.

Beth focused on the community read-aloud taking place Friday saying, "by bringing them in to read to the students we showing off our school and our fine students".

Today two authors visited the school to read to the students, David Martin from Lyndonville, and S. S. Taylor from Hartland Vermont.

Martin has written books like We've All Got Bellybuttons and Piggy and Dad Go Fishing and Taylor is the author of the novel The Expeditioners.
