Another Break for St. J

stjwaterbreakST. JOHNSBURY- For the second time in just five days, there has been another water break in the town of St. Johnsbury. The burst took place by the corner of Main St. and Winter St. around 10:30 a.m. on Friday.

Residents living on Winter Street and surrounding roads were forced to go without water this morning. The situation was contained within a couple of hours after a J.A. McDonald crew sent for repairs. Monday's break occurred between the Sand Hill Intersection and Portland Street bridge, causing temporary outages for nearby residents.

The current pipe system in town is aging and in the process of being replaced, which may be the reason the breaks are happening in the first place. Some pipes have even been in the ground since the late 1800s.
