ST JOHNSBURY - With the first meeting in St. Johnsbury since last weeks town meeting day, it will also be the first meeting for new elected officials as well.Jeff and Tom Moore are the new elected officials that now serve the town of St Johnsbury. All though there are new faces in the town, some of the issues have not been resolved.

"One of the first issues we have to address is the town manager position. And we're going to have to come to some sort of resolution as to how we're going to address that", said newly elected selectman Jeff Moore. He is a native St Johnsbury resident who feels that looking forward is the best direction for the town and not dwelling on the past.

"I don't know if I really want to go backwards and look back at, um, discussions of animosity and issues of that sort. I think what we need to do as a select board at this point is look forward and how we're going to move forward with the town", said Moore. Although hiring a town manger has not been so easy because there is no town manager present.

"Some of the issues that took place last year were largely created by the simple fact that we didn't have a town manager. So people didn't know where to go, where to direct things...it was chaotic", said St Johnsbury Selectman Alan Ruggles, "I know both of them are ready to work. They have some good ideas...and they're willing to stand up for what they think is right."
