Should Gruber be Terminated

gruberVERMONT- Vermont State Senate Minority Leader Joe Benning is asking Governor Peter Shumlin to terminate Vermont's $400,000 contract with Jonathan Gruber.

There has been a release of videos showing that Gruber intentionally deceived the public in drafting the Affordable Care Act. But Benning is not the first to call for the termination, last week Senator Kevin Mullin said to, "terminate his contract immediately."

These videos showed Gruber saying that Government Secrecy is a huge political advantage and that Obamacare was written in a tortured way to make sure the public didn't understand.

Gruber does not only have a contract with Vermont, but also a $481,050 contract with Michigan, a $329,000 contract with Minnesota, and a $400,000 contract with Wisconsion.

As of right now, the Shumlin administration plans on keeping Gruber as the financing consultant for the single-payer health care. According to his contract, he will be paid $400,000 for policy expertise, as well as research and economic modeling related to the implementation for Green Mountain Care.

Benning says that Gruber is not getting paid all at one time and he believes that he has not been paid the full amount.

Gruber's work will be presented to the Legislature on January 15th.
