Lyndon Police Auctions Cruiser

cruiser finalLYNDONVILLE - The town of Lyndon is auctioning off one of their police cruisers by sealed bid.

The 2006 Dodge Magnum has over one-hundred and twenty-four thousand miles on it, which is one of the reasons why the police department is retiring the car. Replacing the old criuser is a brand new 2014 Dodge Durango. The department is excited about this new vehicle in hopes that it will last the department several years.

"It's actually working out well for us. We are hoping with the all-wheel drive and the higher ground clearance, we will be able to get to more areas through the winter and through mud season" says Jack Harris, the Lyndonville Police Chief.

As for the old cruiser, the money the department recieves for the old car will go back into the general fund to supplement their budget for next year.

Bidding is available to the public and goes until September sixteenth. It is available for viewing at the Lyndon Public Saftey Facility by appointment. All sealed bids must be recieved at the Town of Lyndon P.O Box 167, Lyndonville, VT 05851.

You can make an appointment for viewing by calling Chief Jack Harris at 626-1271.
