The Life of a Veteran

hojek.jpgLYNDON - The transition in life of a veteran is a very hard one after coming back to society. Some people can not adjust to life at home after seeing the life of war.

One local who served overseas is John Hojek. Hojek has decided to come back to school after serving in the Iraq war.

Hojek talked a lot about things that were different by coming back to school. For instance, the first day he told someone that he was a veteran, they replied by calling him a "baby rapist killer."

He is very used to those words, but he deals with it by excelling in school and activities like the hockey club and the veterans club.

He has improved his daily life by using group therapy lessons from the Veterans Affair Office, and also said that with age comes maturity and letting things slide.
