Tournament Raises Funds For Flooded Gym

LYNDONVILLE - A weekend dodgeball tournament has raised new funds to improve a recently flooded St. Johnsbury gym. Kingdom Gymnastics, located inside the Green Mountain Mall on Memorial Drive, was flooded in early February from two ruptured water mains.

The business suffered thousands of dollars in damage and lost equipment.

Saturday's fundraiser, a dodgeball tournament, was held inside the Bole Gymnasium at Lyndon State College.

Money raised will be donated to the gym's restoration efforts.

"The flood really interfered with our practice time because all of a sudden our practice space was unavailable, so for the last three weeks of the season we had to travel to Littleton to practice," said Molly Forester, a gymnast from St. Johnsbury Academy.

Representatives told a News 7 reporter that the tournament brought in over $1,000.
