Lyndon Institute Boys Vikings Beat Oxbow

boys basketballLyndon-The number two ranked Lyndon Institute boys basketball team in divsion two showed why they are ranked so high beating Oxbow 58-40. The Vikings had the height difference in the game but the first nine points were scored by three pointers. Senior shooting guard Mason Lants scored the first nine points of the game.

Head Coach Pat Guckin said this before the game "We need our big guys to come through and play hard down low. We have a size advantage. So we need to utilize the talent we have and the shot selection."

Lyndon did exactly what their coach preached as after one quarter they led Oxbow 23-2. This Prompted Pat Guckin to take out his starters except for James Shufelt.

James Shufelt said this after the game. "We had Kyle down low, hes big and fast then we have Jay Cobb who can pass, shoot and dribble."

Jay Cobb said that "the team played great today. We lost the lasttow but to get that win might strike up a winning streak to bring them into playoffs."

Lyndon Institute with only five games left play tonight at 7pm against Lamoille Union HS.
