Women on Target

WomenshootingLYNDON, VT- The National Rifel Association held their yearly seminar. This year was specially geared towards women. "Women on Target" was created after the occurrence of wide spread shootings happening too often through out our nation. This seminar was used to introduce women to Firearms, helping protect to themselves and even others.

"They'll follow it up with a personal protection course and alot of them want to keep following it up in either target shooting or carrying it for their own protection," said NRA Firearms Instructor Steve Jeffrey

Not many women participated in the seminar, but the few that did were anxious to try out the variety of hand guns.

Jeffrey says, "We welcome women all the time, women are the fastest growing part of our sport right now, whether their hunting, target shooting or for their own personal protection.

The seminar was intended to inform women about gun safety while allowing them to become familiar with firearms. It was also an opportunity for these women to shoot for the first time.

"I like having new shooters experience shooting in a positive light and watch the enjoyment they have getting out of it," Jeffery says.
