LYNDONVILLE- The Darling Inn in Lyndonville will play host to a free Thanksgiving dinner for the second straight year. The festive feast is being planned by local volunteers and is open to anyone in the community, including surrounding towns.
Over 50 people were served at last years' event, organized by Shear Sensations owner, Amy Bona and her employees. The meal will include all the classic fixings like turkey, stuffing, and squash.
This year volunteers have steped up on the amount of time and advertising put in to making the dinner a hopeful success. Bona would like to see at least 100 more people served for the the feasts' second running.
Mickey Antonucci, a hairstylist at Shear Sensations volunteering for the event, expressed her enjoyment for the holiday gathering by saying, "It's just an absolute overwhelming, nice warm feeling when you see these people have stuff and still want to come in."
No food will be going to waste. After the meal ends, all leftovers will be packed and sent over to the Lyndon Area Food Shelf on Thanksgiving night. The community is encouraged to join the dinner on November 28th from 11-2 P.M. and all donations can be dropped of at the Shear Sensations Salon on Depot St. in Lyndonville.
