LYNDONVILLE - The Cumberland Farms in Lyndonville will soon be on the move. The relocation will take down a few houses in the area, which has left some residents unpleased. What some people might not understand is that the village of Lyndon is almost completely a commercial zone.
Though there are some people that are not happy with the expansion, Jeannette McKnight knows that Cumberland Farms is not doing anything wrong. "If people look at the map they would see it's a commercial district for the town, and so if you understand that, it changes your whole attitude of what is happening. This is not something that's been new."
This new gas station would have 8 fueling stations, which would look similar to the Gulf and Mobil stations in town.
With the move, the gas station has agreed to comply with town ordinances and restrictions, including no lighting under their canopy, no snow plowing on certain areas, as well as no more that 70 decibels of noise.
