LYNDON- After 28 years located on the lower campus at Lyndon State College the Lyndon Children's Center is moving to a new location.
The Center is owned by Lyndon State College but the college needs the space that the center takes up.
The daycare is now moving to it's new spot which is located at 77 Pleasant St. in Lyndonville. The director of Lyndon Children's Center, Stacey Tanner, doesn't think the change in location will create any problems for those whose children are enrolled in the daycare.
"I think we'll be okay because a lot of times people have trouble getting up through the L.I. traffic to get here and it's more on the main street so I think we'll be okay," Tanner said.
With only 5 students currently enrolled at the daycare the new building, being larger than the current one, will allow the daycare to enroll up to 30 more. Karen Bartlett, who is an intern at Lyndon Children's Center, thinks that the move will be good for the daycare.
"So it might actually bring in more with it not being so far out of the way," said Bartlett.
But the move to the new building is behind schedule. With construction getting in the way the move has already been delayed since June, but if everything goes according to plan they should be moved into the new location by October 1st. Despite the delay Tanner is staying optimistic, "It was very hard we had a lot of work. We're almost at the end now so, but it was a challenge."
Lyndon State College requested that the daycare move and it is still not known what the space will be used for once the move is complete.
