Earth Day at Lyndon State

solar busLYNDON- Lyndon State College has gone green.

Their colors may be green and gold, but they have gone environmentally green as well.

Every year, the LSC community celebrates Earth Day, also known as Environmental Day. Lyndon State has it's own sustainability club that participates in environmental projects on campus year round.

"It just promotes awareness there is a lot of issues on campus involving energy usage involving recycling and things like that  some people just don't realize or they do realise and they just don't think about it so this is a good day for people to kind of remember things they already know about problems we are facing," said Ryan Behling, a member of the Sustainability Club, "and we can kind of work together and get people aware."

Also in attendance to the event was Gary Beckwith. Beckwith is the owner of the "Solar Bus" which is a solar powered bus he uses to travel all over and promote the green lifestyle. "I think events like this, they happen all over the place, especially on Earth Day the whole idea... is to just inspire people and to get peoples minds spinning about things they can do on their own," Beckwith said.
