Healthy Eating Habits Event

Healthy eating habitsLYNDONVILLE - Healthy snacks and activities were the focus of an event at Bandstand Park Friday, September 6th, as a part of the Cobleigh Library's youth programming. About 30 children and families were in attendance and they participated in activities, learned about cooking for toddlers, and even were taught how to make chef hats of their own.

At the event was Bernadette Bessette, who works for the UVM Extension as the Nutrition Educator for Caledonia County.

"We learn how to eat healthy, using (the) minimum of their money. Plus it will improve the health of folks," Bessette explained.

The healthy snacking event was the third event held by the Cobleigh Library since June. Those in attendance were able to snack on Cheerios, raisins, pretzels, and cheese while learning about healthy habits. Those in attendance seemed engaged and thrilled to be learning about healthy habits while interacting with other families.

Their next event will be held on October 4th and is focused on all the fun things you can do with Pumpkins.
