Community National Bank Closing Two Branches

community ntl bankLYNDONVILLE- Community National Bank announced today that it would be closing two branches in the area on July 17th.

The branches closing will be on Broad St. next to the post office in Lyndonville and St. Johnsbury's Federal St. drive-in branch.

According to Kathryn Austin, Executive Vice President of the bank, the decision to close the branches were based on a redundancy in having four banks in such close proximity and she hopes that customers will be able to adjust to the location changes.

However, some customers are not keen on the idea. Bob Duggan, a customer of the bank, said "I wish [the Lyndonville location] wouldn't [be closing] actually because when I'm downtown and I go to the book store or I go to the H.O.P.E. store or any local businesses down here I like to use cash instead of debit.

The branches that will remain open are St. Johnsbury's Price Chopper location and Lyndonville's Broad St. location next to Kinney Drugs.
