ThumbnailTemplate copy copyBURKE- Q Burke Mountain held a rail jam this past weekend to honor local hero, Ian Muller.  Ian was a 22 year old Lyndon student who was killed in Afghanistan in March of 2012.  Spirits were high as skiers and Riders of all ages hit the slopes in during the rail jam. Contestants had an option of four rails of diverse shapes and sizes.

Winner of the ladies division, Kayjay Rooke, said the conditions were "a little on the windy side and pretty cold" but overall it was "pretty good."

Family members of Muller were grateful to see such a great turnout. Ian's brother, Ruben Muller said, "To know that this is a really nice community, a tight knit community is awesome. The fact that they are holding an event like this is awesome."

William Vear took the win in the mens snowboarding competition and Sam Miles came out on top for skiing.

All proceeds from the event went to the Ian Muller Scholarship Fund which was recently started at Lyndon State and will be awarded to a veteran attending the college.
