BARNET- The 8th grade students at Barnet School are trying to go to Boston to see a Redsox game and the Blue Man Group for their end of the year trip. On Saturday, the 8th grade students hosted an auction that would help frey the costs of the trip.
"The school budget doesn't fund the class trip. In years past we have donated some money, couple thousand dollars, maybe, it's way more than that. It costs a lot of money to take this many kids to Boston for a couple nights," said Shelly Samuels, one of three coordinators of the auction.
Ethan Bushey one of the 8th grade students that attended, talked about all the fundrasing they did. "Every time we do a fundraiser, it's usually fun for everyone... including us. Whether or not we're the ones organizing it, we're always part of it as well."
The students helped sign in the bidders for the auction, helped handing the items to the winners, and spent all week calling citizens for donations.
