ST.JOHNSBURY- Northeast Kingdom Vermont Regional Hospital is holding its fifth annual Radiothon today. Each year the NVRH reaches out to the community and asks them to help purchase a new piece of equipment. This year's machine is a hospital wide patient monitoring system.
Radio stations including MAGIC 97.7, KIX 105.5, WST 1340A.M, and NSN were all there broadcasting the event live. Special radio guests went to each individual station to explain the importance of the Radiothon and what they are hoping to accomplish.
The hospital is looking to raise the same amount as last year, about 30,000 dollars. The 30,000 would just be a portion of the 600,000 dollar installation cost.
CEO of NVRH, Paul Bengtson, says that this piece of technology is very sophisticated and will tie in well with their other electronic health records systems.
The Radiothon started this morning at nine and will wrap up around four P.M tonight. Donations are taken by calling in
Results from the event should be in by tomorrow.
