WELLS RIVER - Once again the Wells River Savings Bank has made the list of Best Places to Work in Vermont. Recieving the first place award in 2010, Wells River Savings Bank has made the top ten list since then. And this year was no different when they came in second.
With 75 percent of the judging coming from employee feedback and surveys, Frank Tilgham, the Chief Executive Officer at the bank, credits the success of creating such a good work enviroment to responding somments. "Every year those comments are kind of a way of an employee speaking directly to "this is how you can be better, this is what I like so far". So its direct contact, basiclly its unfiltered."
As the competition dwindled away the excitement grew over where the bank would place. "Okay, we missed 10, we missed 8, now we missed 5, we missed 4, 3.'" And we were down to the last two, and there was electricity in the room," said Katie Thayer, the Marketing Devlopmental Coordinator, "Its a legacy we want to continue."
The surveys are held annually and are currently accpecting registrations for 2014.
