SUTTON - 72-year-old Kenneth Hayes of Kirby, VT is the new Sutton School Interim Principal. The Sutton school board decided to hire him after a special school board meeting on Wednesday afternoon.
Hayes will hold the position until June 30, 2015. Sutton School Board advertised the position of "Interim Administrator" in early April of this year, the Administrator position replaced the position of principal at the school.
Hayes will be filling in for former Principal Roberta Stradling starting on April 24, 2015.
Stradling was accused of assaulting an unnamed staff member on November 20, 2014. Police investigated the accusations.
She was placed on administrative leave by the school board according to Caledonia North Supervisory Union Superintendent Victoria Scheufler on December 5, 2014 in regards to the allegations.
Stradling resigned from her the position on January 2, 2015. She was never charged by the Caledonia County States Attorney Lisa Warren after the police investigation.
