amusicaltreatDANVILLE- A group of more than twenty people found their way to the Choate-Sias House in Danville to listen to a presentation about band and instrument history. Gary Aubin presented the presentation for the Danville Historical Society.

 

 

Aubin, who was very knowledgeable about the history of town bands in the state, caught the attention of some audience members.

"I enjoyed seeing the old photographs," said David Hare. "I enjoyed the presentation on the older instruments. I think that was my favorite part."

Of the many topics discussed, Aubin kept his audience engaged when he talked about two bands from Bristol "battling." The two bands would have concerts on the same night, on opposite sides of town for fun. 

The main goal of the Danville Historical Society is to educate those interested in learning about the history of Danville. They are open on Tuesday and Thursday's from noon to 7pm.
