AROUND THE NEK- A FairPoint power outage left 9-1-1 callers without any emergency assistance over the holiday weekend.
On Friday night, FairPoint reported that forty-five 9-1-1 calls were made between three and eight forty-five at night. They found out that there was a problem when a St. Albans dispatcher noticed that no calls were going through.
The outage was a result of equipment failure due to a tree falling on a fiber line in New Hampshire. According to their website, the most reported problems included internet, phone and e-mail sevices, with 60% of all reported problems being internet servies.
The outage was restored shortly before nine Saturday night. To report any problems to FairPoint, or to see the other problems that the company had during the outage in further detail, you can visit https://downdetector.com/status/fairpoint-communications.
