Allegations Against Police Misconduct

stjselectST. JOHNSBURY- At a special St Johnsbury select board meeting last night there were some serious accusations about the police force in St Johnsbury.

The town of St Johnsbury discussed potential solutions to these allegations.

The first solution was to take no action what so ever, this did not go over well with the town. The other options that were discussed were to hire a private investigator to investigate the potential wrongdoings or to have the town launch its own investigation. When given these three options the town decided ,just about unanimously, that the third option would be the best bet. This news did not sit well with former police officer Phil Ciotti and he suggested something a little different.

"The accusations such that I've heard sound to me like allegations of police misconduct of civil rights violations against an individual, and it's easy to make those accusations.  I don't know what the evidence really is supposed to be," said Ciotti. "I do know that if the FBI is charged with investigating civil rights violations, and you don't have to pay the FBI to do it.  If the evidence was presented to them, they would make an assessment, and if it was worthy of an investigation, they would do it, as they're charged to by law," added Ciotti.

This caused quite the stir and a whole new idea in launching an investigation.
