St. Johnsbury School Board Plans for Future

schoolboardstj ST. JOHNSBURY- The second draft of the St. Johnsbury school board budget was presented this week.

This year the St. J's new superintendent, Ranny Bledsoe made a schedule to follow to ensure the final budget is completed on time.

The first change was that Bledsoe presented the proposed budget earlier in the year, giving the school board and budget committee more time to discuss it. The group was able to first look over last years budget and budget that was carried over that can not be changed. They were than able to see what they could cut.

Blendsoe feels stingily that the budget committee will be able to see where the money is currently being spent, and how the school should be spending that budget. "We invest money where it is really necessary and also that we look, at anything that might be questionable and vett if its really something we need," Blendsoe says.

The Saint Johnsbury school board is required to have a finalized budget by the last week in January. More information about the St.Johnsbury schoolboard budget last year and this year can be found here.
