basketball mugshot LYNDONVILLE - Three Lyndon State basketball players have been charged with disorderly conduct stemming from a March 11th incident that took place on the college's campus.

Howard Lyles, 23, has been charged with resisting arrest, Obstruction of Justice and disorderly conduct. David T. Johnson, 22, was also charged with disorderly conduct along with Joshua Bosworth, 19, who was also charged with hindering arrest. The three turned themselves in three days after the incidents on March 11th.

Earlier this month, Lyles was allegedly banned from Lyndon State's "S.H.A.P.E. Gym," Due to an altercation he was involved in during one of the Hornet's away games.

According to authorities, on March 10th Lyles was seen in the S.H.A.P.E. facilty where he was given a verbal warning that he was trespassing. The following night, Lyles was once again found in the gym, and reportedly ignored another verbal warning as well as a written order.

Lyndon State's campus security tried to escort Lyles out of the gym, but he refused. Two Vermont State Troopers then responded to the call, where Lyles continued to refuse the request. The Troopers tried to arrest Lyles after the refusal but he became disorderly and threatened to harm the Troopers. While this was going on, nearly a dozen individuals had come over to where Lyles was with intentions of preventing the arrest. Bosworth and Johnson were said to have been the two leading instigators, leading to their charges. While the skirmish ensued, Lyles left the gym as well as Lyndon State's campus.

Members of the basketball team disagree with the reports and say that it was a misunderstanding. Sophomore guard Isner Barnes said "Nobody did anything that they said in the report... people were just standing around making sure nothing happened to Howie."

Joshua Bosworths's take on the situation was "We were kind of supporting him and they took it as getting in their way but they never told him [Lyles] was under arrest."

Lyles, Bosworth and Johnson will all appear in court on May 5th.
