LYNDON- After an inspection by the Vermont State Fire Marshal, a local ambulance service has been ordered to keep overnight workers out of their building's bedrooms located on the Lyndon State Campus.
The inspection reports that the windows in the bedrooms would not be escapable incase of an emergency, as well as old smoke detectors and damaged ceilings. No employees can sleep in the rooms until new windows or sprinklers are installed.
The report indicates that these beds could be moved into two front offices where only a single window needs to be fixed. One member also volunteered his camper for workers to sleep in, outside of the building.
Lyndon State College is listed as the owner of the building. Director of maintenance Tom Archer has began to discuss complete replacement of the building sometime down the road.
