smith postionLYNDON- Dan Hill, the municipal town administrator for Lyndon, has taken a separation from the town for one month. Justin Smith and Dawn Dwyer, both members of the municipal building, will step up and take over in Hill's place while he is away.

Hill has left his position so he can recieve full benefits in retirement. If Hill does not leave for a seperation of the town for the month, then he will not be considered retired. Once Hill returns to his position he will be able to work for the same employer as a retired employee.

Smith, who is the zoning administrator, has worked in the municipal building for the past 15 years and has known Hill for the past five. Hill has given Smith certain duties to tend to while he is away as well as overseeing the town making sure that plans are still happening and that they stay on the right track.

Smiths two main important responsibilities will be to make sure that the town's plans and the town's updates are all set.

"I felt comfortable that with what he was doing and the way he approached things. So, it seemed to me that just continuing to try and do things, do as Dan would do, that seems to be working real well at this point," Smith said.

Dan Hill is expected to return to his position on November 4th and upon his return to office he will be working three days a week.
