LCCLYNDONVILLE- The Lyndon Children's Center has a new home, but why they were asked to move away from their old hilltop home is still unclear. Lyndon State College Dean of Administration Wayne Hamilton stated " the decision was financial...the rent being paid was not even covering the cost of our utilities."

But Stacey Tanner, the Director of Lyndon Child Care (L.C.C), was told that the college needed the space. Tanner also went on to say they that L.C.C. even offered to pay higher rent if it meant they did not have to move, but she went on to say that didn't even make a difference.

The L.C.C. does not deny that they were having financial problems, but Tanner said they had a process in place that they were going to show the college at a meeting; and explain how their finances were coming along but the the child center never got chance to present their ideas.

The college unveiled their master plans for the campus last week. The plans included multiple ideas for the building where the L.C.C. used to reside. The committee in charge of the master plan suggested that the building be tore down. The committee stated the building is not in good condition and is not a good first building for vistors to see when visting the campus.

Despite the confusion as to why the L.C.C. was forced out of their original home, they are more than happy with their new home and are open for business. As for what will come of the old L.C.C. building, the community will have to wait to see what happens.
