LYNDON - Northeast Kingdom Waste Management is holding a hazardous waste collection day. People in the area are requested to drop off any hazardous materials that should not be thrown away.
All waste will be collected on Saturday, September 28th, at the Lyndon Recycling Center on Church St. from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
NKWM's Executive Director, Paul Tomasi, says, "It's your last opporunity to this year to get rid of hazardous waste."
This service has a couple of important benefits. There is no limit to how much waste is dropped off. Additionally, anyone living in the district can dump their materials free of charge.
The types of items collected include pool chemicals, pestisides, oil based paints, and anything labeled "dangerous". All waste will be disposed once the materials are collected and separated.
The next hazardous waste removal day will be May 1, 2014. Those with questions about hazerdous material collecting can call the recycling renter at 802-626-3532.
