LYNDON - A complaint was filed in Lyndon because of protesters displaying graphic images that could have blinded community members.
On the corner of Depot and Broad Street is where the protesters have gathered to rally support for their anti-abortion views. They hold posters of graphic images of the abortion process. They wanted the images to grab your attention, think, and reflect on what an abortion is.
After the complaint was filed, the town sought legal council for advice. "Protesters have a legal right to stand on the public side walk and demonstrate what they wish," said the legal council.
"I definitely think it's their right to state their opinion I mean everybody has the freedom of speech," said resident Jasmine Young. "I feel like the images are a little bit graphic for you know just being out on the streets, children go through there're people who might be really sensitive to that sort of thing too. "
Another resident said she wants to work with the protesters in the community discussion. She hopes they will be open to some changes to make the graphic images less blinding.
