Several benefits include quicker and more efficient paramedic responses to the Lyndon Rescue coverage area, the ability to provide a broader range of medical services, and the possibility of overall cost savings to the customer.  They are also now equiped with a new heart monitor.

Rescue employees will now have to go through additional training.  The Director of Operations, Mark Podgwaite, says that most people won't notice the changes immediately.

"They may not see it.  We as the EMS providers will see it.  We will have the ability to hopefully get paramedic level services to those patients requiring it faster than we ever had before."

Lyndon Rescue is expecting the arrival of more advanced equipment next week. "We've had to add some advanced airway items, we are looking at some IV pumps that will allow medication to be delivered at a consistent constant rate certain medications require that, that's about all we've had to add to so far," said Podgwaite.  It is unknown what these changes will do to their budget, and additional staff members have not been hired yet.
