books n beyondLYNDON - Nature's Mysteries Books and Beyond celebrated its one-year anniversary with a Halloween-themed gathering last night. The store is one of the only locations in the Northeast Kingdom to offer tarot and astrology readings, and owner Michelle Wildflower hopes that events like the one from last night can draw a larger crowd to her establishment.

"I have a lot of people that are surprised and didn't know we were here," Wildflower said. "People in the community have been like, we need a store like this, and we're so happy that you're here."

The gathering last night included a costume contest, a potluck, a raffle and a 10% sale storewide. Wildflower's shop specializes in jewelry and eccentric clothing.

"I've been selling jewelry and making body care products myself for the past twenty years," Wildflower said. "So I go to farmer's markets and craft shows, and last year we decided to open up a store."

The store is located on Depot Street in downtown Lyndonville. The store is open at various hours during the week and is closed on weekends. Pictures from last night's gathering - including the winners of the costume contest - can be found at the store's web site.
