rotarianslendahandLYNDON - The Friends of the Cobleigh Public Library are getting ready for the start of their annual book sale on Friday October 5th.

With boxes upon boxes of books, the Friends of the library use the help of the Lyndonville Rotary Club to get everything set up and ready for the big weekend.

The Friends of the Cobleigh Public Library are a non-profit organization that assists and raises money for the Cobleigh Library. President of the Friends is Edie Bell-Brown, who is also heading the operations for this year's book sale.

"We're a small group, and we do what we can do," Bell-Brown said.

With the clearing out of books to sell and with donations from contributors, the Friends have been busy this year. They're not the only ones who are willing to lend a helping hand for the library. The Friends are joined by the Lyndonville Rotary Club to help set up for the event. Rotarians help with everything from setting up tables, to bringing back the books that didn't sell.

"We heard about their annual book sale, and we saw a great opportunity to help them set up," explained Bob Whittaker, the Lyndonville Rotary Club's President.

The Friends are able to set-up on their own, but appreciate the help on such a busy year, "We need help on days like this, and the Lyndon Rotary came to our rescue," said Edie Bell-Brown.

At the end of the day, after setting up what Bell-Brown estimates as "thousands and thousands of books" both groups know their work  was done for a good cause.
The goal of the book sale is to raise money for the Cobleigh Library's Outreach program. The book sale will be open from noon until 6 pm on Friday October 5th, they will also be open at 9 am on Saturday morning.
