Railroad Work Leads to Damage

POT HOELYNDON- Drivers are reporting blown tires and bent wheels due to the construction of the railroad track on Broad Street in Lyndon. The project was supposed to be finished in the Summer, when the paving was being done, but was delayed due to the certain type of rail not being avialable.

The construction has been going for the past week, and has led to long waits in traffic in one of the towns busiest areas. Drivers are urged to take it slow over the tracks because of the pot holes, and due to the unfinished railroad track. The pot holes should be fixed within the next couple of days, but it's aleady too late for some drivers. District Manager Dale Perron is urging drivers who have sustained damage to their cars to contact them for the next steps in the process of repairing tires due to the construction.

"We are telling everybody that they need to write down the information that we need, the who, what, when, where, and how. Tell us who they are, what they are driving, when it happened, where they were, stuff like that." says Perron.

The Distirct Management office then sends the information to their Risk Managment Division, where again the motorist will be asked mulitple questions, and it is the Risk Management's decision on where the case goes from there.

V-Trans in St. Johnsbury has already recieved a couple of complaints.

The pot holes are said to be fixed in the next few days, and the railroad project will be completed next year.
