ST. JOHNSBURY-Catamount Arts was alive with the sound of Vermont History being sung on October 2. Linda Radt-Key was the star of the show.
The state of Vermont has an extensive amount of history and according to Radt-Key the best way to learn about something is through song.
Radt-Key has been doing this musical preformance for a number of years and it always proves to be a big hit for Catamount Arts.
All of the costumes and songs for the preformance were found in the Vermont Historical Society's Collection of sheet music.
All of the songs were published by differen't Vermonters in their communities and Radt-Key had an inudation of people telling her differen't historical Vermont stories that they wanted put to music.
Radt-Key would've liked to turn ever story into a song but with a limited amount of time it ensures that she will have material for her shows in the future.
Radt-Key was very excited to talk her preformance and how she thinks it affects the North East Kingdom "I think history is best learned by stories and I think the songs give us an inside into the period just as the artwork would thats different from just something from very dry and factual. Its really brings us into the minds of the people that lived here"
In a couple weeks Radt-Key will be traveling to Rupert Vermont to continue her singing Vermont history show.
