BRADFORD - A local antique store is raising the bar when it comes to antique items. Antique stores sell aging items that usually become new treasures, but Vermont Country Home Antiques is trying something new.
"I've just always loved antiques," said Owner Donna Sutton, "Especially country furniture, you know, the feel of it."
Social media has become an outlet for absolutely everything and now you can add antiques to that list. Sutton has been posting her items on social media for four years now, and she explains what it has done for business.
"The Facebook page has really helped us," Sutton said, "It's just amazing. People are on there every single week. We post every Wednesday new pictures. And if I'm like late getting it on there on a Wednesday, everyone's messaging me where is your stuff?'"
She attends multiple auctions every week, where she finds items to re-furbish with her husband Tim. The couple put in long hours at their workshop in New Hampshire where they make their unique items.
"He's the one that does all the hard work," said Sutton, "I do all the refinishing and he does al the building and repairing and so we're a good team that way."
What better way to bring the past to the present.
