ST.JOHNSBURY- St.Johnsbury has gone through a series of town managers over the last couple of years. Two former members have recently filed lawsuits against the town after early dismissal of their terms.
The newest former manger Mark Shea claims he was fired for unjust reasons while current board member Bernard Timson was the one who decided to put him in.
"I made the decision to put him in, narrowed it down and he was the best for the job." Timons said. However, once the new board took over in March, they said that Shea was not qualified for the job.
Shea fired back by making claims against individual board members including Tom and Jeff Moore who personally wanted him removed.
Ralph Nelson was the second town manager who argued he was fired without a cause but a lower court ruled that he has been "rightfully fired". Timons also commented saying "I made my decision on Mr. Nelson and he isn't there today, the court will make their decision."
Shea is finishing up his case against the town, while Nelson will appear in court on March 17th.
