World Series Trophies LYNDONVILLE-  Sunday night, Lyndon Institute hosted a tour that brought three of the Red Sox World Series trophies to the North East Kingdom. The tour has been making stops throughout New England to show appreciation to fans who aren't close to their team's home field.

" Nothing like that's ever been to the North East Kingdom and I thought that they would be pleasantly surprised with the passion of the fans around here" Said Red Sox Nation governor Glen Jardine.

The trophies made their way to the north east with the help of Jardine who is also a Lyndon Institute alumni.

"When the Red Sox were looking for locations for the viewing of the trophies and their mascot Wally, he thought hey how neat would it be to have them come to Lyndon Institute?" Athletic Director at LI states about Jardine.

Local fans in the area would have to drive six or seven hours round trip just to go to a game. Jardine says "It's a lot of commitment and sacrifice go above and beyond the people that live right next to Fenway Park."

Some of the youngest fans to some of the oldest fans arrived at the event.  Ninety-one year old Ruth Witherspoon said she thought it was a wonderful idea but would have loved to see a couple members of the teams as well.

The tour made it's way through Lyndonville, Colchester, and Burlington and is now on it's way out of Vermont state.
