Subaru Announces Recalls

subaruannouncesrecallNEW ENGLAND - Subaru has issued a recall on all Outback and Legacy models from 2005 through 2009.

The vehicles are being recalled in all six New England states.

The recall applies to vehicles in states that use salt to keep their roads clear during the winter months. According to the recall, brake lines in these vehicles develop rust and can corrode as a result of the salty water. This corrosion can cause brake lines to leak, meaning the vehicles will not stop as quickly.

Michael Loschiavo, General Manager of St. J Subaru explained the necessary steps to take in situations like these. "So the first symptoms would most likely be a low brake fluid light," Loschiavo said, "and at that time, if that happens then I would strongly encourage you to contact the nearest Subaru dealer and have them take a look at it."

Subaru estimates that over two hundred thousand vehicles are affected by the recall.
