Voters in Lyndon and Burke agree on the major issues this election.
As voters made their way to polls today, many had issues in mind that determined their votes.
In both Burke and Lyndon, voters felt that the most important topics for the NEK are safety, affordability and education.
One Lyndon voter explained that she does not mean just from the government and ICE, but also to have the feeling that those who need help with mental and physical health, can feel safe in their communities to seek it. Many voters expressed the want to feel safe in their neighborhoods aswell.
Affordability has been a major issue for not only voters but also candidates. Majority of candidates running in the NEK have a focus on making Vermont more affordible for businesses, rural areas, housing and healthcare. Voters expressed that the housing and healthcare costs have become too expensive, causing many people to leave the state.
The state of education has brought up the idea of redistricting in past years. Many voters have expressed discontent with this idea, not only due to distance but due to the uncertainty of any money being saved.
