cpr training AROUND THE NEK- Finding a CPR class isn't not hard to do, Lyndon rescue and Calex both have monthly classes to help residence be prepared for emergency situations. Being ready and knowledgeable about medical emergency can make the difference between life and death.

Living in the North East Kingdom, it is easy to get stuck in unfamiliar teritory. "A typical response is going to take at least ten minuets" Sarah Houghton an EMT for Lyndon Rescue stated during a CPR session at Lyndon Institute. "So if bystanders can initiate CPR before we get there the patients is going to have a much better chance of survival".

Jillian McLaughlin whom is also an EMT at Lyndon Rescue said that just knowing the information about what maybe happening to a patient when they call 911 can make all the difference. This gives the people going to the scene a better idea of what they are walking into. This also helps prepare them with any medical supplies they need before they get there, which can drastically cut down on time. If the person who made the call can also make the initial medical actions, the paramedics don't have to worry about stabalizing the person in need.

You don't need to go to school for along time to be able to give proper CPR. "The basic first aid skills in the class can really help people survive certain accidents or medical situations". McLaughlin, along with fellow EMT and teacher Houghton both see that these things are a lot harder for people to pick up if they are not in the medical field. Never the less McLaughlin thinks, "It is Important because if it's a family member or friend, they can give the best information to 911.
