peacham fall foliage festivalPEACHAM - Vendors, crafters, and fair goers all gathered at the Peacham Town Hall on Thursday for the annual Fall Foliage Festival. The major draw of the festival was the annual craft fair.

Marilyn Magnus, one of the event's chief organizers, had a lot on her plate in preparation for the festival.

"We organized who's we're going to call to see who wants to return and be a vendor," Magnus said. "And then we have to be in charge of advertising for this event, and getting that in to somebody in Walden. There's a lot in just one meeting that we get done."

Sally Gross, who sells home-made soaps and stained glass pieces, is one of those vendors who returned year after year. Now, she's a member of the planning committee.

"I've been doing the craft show for close to ten years now," Gross said. "I just got on the committee, though, last year. So it's been going on for a  long time and its a really fun show."

Locals and tourists alike came out to the festival. More than just the craft fair, ghost walk and scenic bus tour, those who attended the festival noted a sense of community.

"The people are really nice people," said Charles Spotts, an out-of-towner who ventured to Peacham for the foliage festival. "We've run into some very friendly people, and they like to tell us about their community and I like to hear about it."
