SportsWrapVERMONT- This has been, and continues to be, a great week for sports. The sun is shining, and the local high school teams are getting their game on. Here is a wrap of yesterday's sports, and what's coming up today.

In baseball and softball, the St. Johnsbury Academy baseball team was defeated by Central Valley Union 13-1. The Hilltoppers softball team was able to come away with an 8-5 win, with junior Bayley Thresher pitching her first complete Varsity game to secure the win. 

Both BFA St. Albans teams beat North Country Union, baseball with a 6-3 win, and softball with a 4-3 win.  Lyndon Institute's teams were able to defeat Northfield; baseball had an 18-3 victory and softball's win was 19-3. 

The Blue Mountain Union baseball team gave away very little in their game, beating Twinfield 23-2.  Littleton's baseball team defeated Gorham 11-1, but their softball team lost 15-5.  And finally both Danville teams were unable to secure wins against People's Academy, baseball lost 6-0 and softball lost 11-3.

In boys tennis, Montpelier won their matches against NCU, 6-1.  And in boys lacrosse, Essex won the game against St. Johnsbury Academy with a score of 16-3.  

Today is another busy day for sports.  Littleton's baseball and softball teams will be at Groveton with the games beginning at four. 

St. Johnsbury Academy's track and field team will be competing against South Burlington, Oxbow, and NCU; the events will begin at 3:30 at NCU.  LI's track and field team will host a home meet against Hazen and Mount Mansfield Union, also beginning at 3:30. 

The NCU boy's tennis team will be at Harwood at 3:30, and Littleton's girls tennis team will be at Stevens at 4. 

And finally, St. Johnsbury girls lacrosse will have a home game against Spaulding starting at 4:30.
