SUTTON- Sutton residents will have another chance to vote on next years school budget. On town meeting day the almost three million dollar town budget was denided with a vote of 67-57.
An informational meeting will take place on March 18th at six p.m. where tax payers can voice their opinions on whether the new budget is low enough to pass.
The board is trying to cut small things that will not hurt the students. They have found a way to cut $30,000 out of the budget.
Chairman of the Sutton school baord, Hayden Tanner Jr. said, "We cut the hot lunch program by 13 thousand dollars and a couple of small things that we thought we could get by without."
One of the biggest concerns that the Sutton community has is the fact that the former principal of the school, Roberta Stradling, is still getting paid and her health insurance is covered.
Although, Tanner did not want to disscuss details about the situation, he did say that part of the $30,000 that was cut came from changing Stradling's health insurnace. Instead of having a two person plan she now only has a one person plan.
The next vote will be on March 25th.
