scary bearAround The NEK -If you're looking for something scary to do to get into the Halloween spirit, The Northeast Kingdom has multiple attractions to both scare and entertain you. From the Haunted Trails in Wheelock, to the Great Corn Maze in Danville and the Bread and Puppet Museum in Glover.  This week marked the first week of the first annual haunted trials in Wheelock.

Many Lyndon State students help out by volunteering to scare whomever travels through the woods. There are refreshments shaped like body parts and scary props set up all throughout the woods at the Wheelock Way.

Although so far the trails first night had been succesful organizers of the event want to focus on planning and preparing soon and putting more energy into advertising. The trails are a little  gruesome and are  a fun attraction for anybody the age of ten and older.

Along with the haunted trails another great attraction for the halloween season is the Great Vermont Cornmaze in Danville.

The Great Vermont cornmaze is the number two maze attraction in America and garners crowds from all over to see if they can conqour the ten acre maze.

The Cornmaze was host to the very popular "Dead North" last week which sold out this like it has for the past 14 years.

LSC students volunteered to help scare people in the maze and like every other year it was a huge hit garnering a huge crowd of people.

Another frightful attraction in the North East Kingdom although not meant for spefically Halloween is The Bread and Puppet museum.

The Bread in Puppet measuem in Glover, is the house to many political art sculptures. Although the sculptures are not intended to be scary as much as they are informing, many people are still shocked by the displays and feel uncomfortable viewing them

The museum will have special Halloween sculptures and pictures in it's "Art Bus" for sale.
