METEOROLOGIST: Matthew DiPirro

After a sunny and warm weekend across the Northeast Kingdom, a few more clouds and some breezy conditions welcomed the beginning of the work week. The culprit is a cold front that will slowly sweep from north to south across Northern New England into Monday night. The passage of this front will be largely uneventful with just some cloudy skies, a noticeable breeze, and slightly cooler temperatures for Tuesday. However, the sun will also increase Tuesday afternoon as highs approach 40 degrees. With clear skies expected Tuesday night, low temperatures will drop into the lower 20s with some upper teens possible in colder locations. High pressure will then build into the entire East Coast by Wednesday with a couple of unseasonably warm afternoon into Thursday as highs approach the upper 40s with even some 50 degree readings likely, especially in the lower Passumpsic valley. This pattern will likely come to an end starting Friday as the clouds increase ahead of an area of low pressure. Although it is still several days away, the weekend is expected to feature unsettled weather with a chance of rain showers on Saturday and Sunday.
