If you live in Vermont, there is a one in three chance that the state is holding money for you that you don't even know about. The State Treasurer's Office has over $48 million in unclaimed financial properties owned by over 200 thousand people. These properties can include things like forgotten bank accounts, uncashed paychecks, or unclaimed security deposits.
Reclaiming your property is completely free, and to see if you have any unclaimed money waiting for you check the VT State Treasurer's Unclaimed Property Website or by calling (802)828-2407.
