A fatal car accident during the early morning hours on Monday near Bradford has left one young man dead.

25-year-old Joseph Malikowski of Illinois was traveling south on Interstate 91 when he allegedly drifted into the median and hit a guardrail, causing the vehicle to flip several times.

The victim was wearing a seatbelt, however, the impact was enough to rip the driver side door off and pin the driver under the car, killing him.

A Vermont State Trooper found the car idling in the southbound lanes and discovered Malikowski's body. Anyone with more information about the accident is asked to call the Vermont State Police at (802) 222-2468.
